Sponsored Farmers Market tables with information on carbon footprint-related subjects including energy use, insulation, voter education, transportation, food, bees and chickens, gas leaks, trees, and composting.
Arranged speakers on topics related to the environment
Planted trees with help from a grant and volunteers who watered for 3+ years
Sustained street trees – informed neighbors to water new nearby plantings
Planted more trees – through the Memory Tree Project in partnership with the City of Boston Parks Dept.
Started a Community Kitchen – a get together to cook & talk, including a session with Mayor Walsh
Sponsored movies on carbon related themes
Read books with a GreeningRozzie book group
Built garden beds and a shed with Maker Mobs
Worked with Neighborhoods for Climate Accountability – a coalition of neighborhood groups on election candidate questions
Collaborated with Greenovate for outreach on Boston’s Climate Action Plan
Advocated for Community Choice Energy (CCE) with BCAN and the Green Justice Coalition to increase the amount of energy Boston gets from renewables
Supported the Friends of Healy Field Community Garden effort
